Welcome to BitCraft Online, a unique MMORPG where the world is shaped entirely by its players. Unlike traditional MMORPGs, BitCraft offers no instant leveling, no quest logs, and no tutorial missions like "kill 10 wolves." Instead, you start in a vast, shared world where players build the land, economy, settlements, and even the geography itself. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know as a new player, helping you get started and thrive in the immersive, player-driven world of BitCraft.
Before you begin your adventure, customize your gameplay experience for comfort and efficiency:
Open Settings: Press Escape or click the settings icon in the bottom-right.
Map Orientation: Lock your map to north to avoid confusion.
Graphics: Reduce grass detail to improve performance if needed.
Dark Mode: Enable for better menu contrast.
Transparency Sliders: Adjust UI overlay transparency for cleaner visuals.
Debug Mode: Enable in settings, then press F4 to see your current region—handy in this vast world.
BitCraft features two main movement types:
Click-to-Move: Left-click on the ground or map to move there.
Right-Click Hold: Hold down the right mouse button for smoother, continuous movement—useful for boats or quick escapes.
Auto-Walk via Map: Click on the map to auto-walk across town, useful when multitasking or taking a break.
WASD movement: supported in beta-mode.
Communication is vital in BitCraft’s player-driven world:
Global Chat: White or dark blue text; visible to all players on your continent/server.
Local Region Chat: Light blue text; only players nearby can see.
Empire Chat: Functions like global chat but exclusive to Empire members.
Access Chat: Click the chat icon in the lower-left or use shortcuts to open conversations.
Why the Cart? It provides 10 cargo slots for mobile storage, essential for gathering and transporting resources.
Unlock via WISP Tutorial: Follow the tutorial quest to build your first cart.
Cart Functions:
Stores items dropped on the ground.
Follows you automatically.
Access inventory by pressing V.
Summon or return instantly with Shift + V (only after vaulting it).
Vault Your Cart: Store it safely in your vault to prevent theft and enable summoning.
Use Shift + Right-Click to open hidden menus on objects like your cart or bags on the ground.
This closes any open menus and lets you interact directly with these objects.
Red Names = Aggressive: Animals with red names will attack you.
White Names = Neutral: These creatures won’t attack unless provoked.
Night Danger: Hostile mobs increase at night—stay near water to avoid most enemies (few can swim).
Combat Style: Use right-click to auto-attack. Special weapon skills are bound to number keys and have cooldowns.
Weapons: Claymore, Mace, Spear & Shield, Crossbow, and Dual Blades — each with unique moves.
Find Elisei, the Taming NPC near destroyed towns or player towns (look for a tower with a tree).
Complete quests to earn coins and taming experience.
Level 5 Taming unlocks pet owls, which can be stored in your vault.
Higher taming levels unlock mounts but require separate riding training.
Taming will evolve with future updates.
You don’t need to be a member to use workstations like kilns, fields, and storage.
Each bank/storage has its own inventory—plan where to store items.
Press U to highlight nearby workstations and processing timers.
No Global Auction House: All trading occurs at physical marketplaces within settlements.
Use the Market Search (J) to find nearby markets and compare prices.
Selling:
Go to the Sell tab.
Place sell orders with item, quantity, and price.
Lowest price listings show first—price competitively.
Buying:
Compare prices at various markets.
Travel physically to the market to complete transactions.
Use Waystones to teleport between settlements.
Teleport cost depends on:
Distance traveled.
Inventory weight (more items = higher cost).
Teleporting with an empty inventory or to your home costs minimal teleport points.
Teleport points regenerate over time and cannot be refilled by other means.
Store items before teleporting to save on teleport costs.
BitCraft features 12 professions split between gathering and crafting.
Gathering Professions: Fishing, Foraging, Forestry, Hunting, Mining.
Crafting Professions: Carpentry, Farming, Leatherworking, Masonry, Smithing, Tailoring, Scholar.
Skill Progression: You level professions by performing related activities (e.g., chopping trees for Forestry).
Some professions depend on others for materials (e.g., Mining → Smithing).
Specialize: As resources become scarce, focus on a few professions to maximize efficiency.
Gear: Craft or buy gear to enhance gathering, crafting, or combat performance.
To build wagons and advanced buildings, you need Construction Level 20.
Use the terraforming tool (open by typing "TERR" in the construction menu) to raise/lower terrain.
Terraforming is the fastest way to level Construction.
Demolish unwanted tiles with Shift + Right-Click.
Wild seeds must be found first (e.g., fiber bushes, star bulbs, wild grain).
Process wild seeds into domesticated seeds to plant on farm plots.
Use the Farming Station and Field with a hoe to cultivate crops.
Fertilizer is crafted from food waste and other products.
Salt is primarily found near coastlines.
Use the Compendium (Shift + Right-Click on resource) to track salt and other resources you’ve discovered.
Open with C.
Tracks all discovered:
Items.
Creatures.
Resources.
Structures.
Collections.
Knowledge.
Use it to:
Check recipes and crafting requirements.
Mark resource nodes for tracking.
Find crafting stations and materials.
Tracking: Highlight nearby resource nodes and automatically move to the next after harvesting.
Deploy a Claim Totem to own land.
Expand claims by feeding the totem; larger claims cost more upkeep.
Claims prevent building decay and allow relocation of buildings.
Join or create settlements to access shared buildings, marketplaces, and social hubs.
Build production buildings like kilns, workbenches, and barter stalls.
Workbenches are instanced—no risk of theft during crafting.
Settlements earn Hex Coins from player activities, which pay upkeep and fund expansion.
Founded by unlocking empire research and constructing the empire building.
Empires allow:
Territory expansion via watchtowers fueled by premium currency (Hexite Capsules).
Empire-specific emotes, titles, banners, and cosmetics.
No gameplay power advantages—mostly social and cosmetic.
Players can join or found empires.
Travelers sell unique items and offer tasks rewarding Hex Coins and Skill Experience.
Tasks refresh every 4 hours and require gathering/crafting specific materials.
Use the Traveler Tasks icon in the bottom right to view tasks remotely.
Deliver materials to Travelers in person to claim rewards.
Travelers include:
Rumbagh: Claim & Settlement essentials.
Svim: Boats, rafts, ships.
Heimlich: Cooking-related items (future updates).
Brico: Carts and wagons.
Alesi: Mounts and pets.
Ramparte: Weapon training manuals.
Varu & Laru (The Twins): Cosmetics (no tasks).
Focus on crafting Rough Planks and Rough Timbers—common Traveler task materials.
Step-by-step crafting cycle:
Chop trees near the Forestry Station.
Craft Rough Wood Logs from trunks.
Craft Rough Stripped Woods at Carpentry Station.
Craft Rough Planks.
Craft Rough Timber from Rough Planks.
Stockpile these and deliver whenever Travelers request them.
Use profits to buy materials you can’t craft for other tasks.
Use the Cart to maximize resource gathering and reduce trips.
Store items before teleporting to reduce costs.
Join groups or settlements to specialize and trade efficiently.
Check the Compendium often to track resources and recipes.
Plan travel carefully; no global market means real travel is required.
Nighttime is dangerous—plan accordingly.
Use Waystones to move quickly between settlements but manage your teleport energy.
